Ike Oliobi
Ike began his professional career as an intern in the financial services industry in the UK. He relocated to South Africa in 2004 and worked in several industries including automotive, FMCG, consumer electronics, information technology and telecommunications. His roles were mainly strategy and sales- focussed at rapidly growing organisations, with bold expansion plans in the private/commercial and public/government sectors.
He quickly rose to senior leadership positions at global companies, including Go-to-Market Director (Sub-Saharan Africa) at LG Electronics and Business Development Director (Africa) at InMobi. In 2014, he relocated to Nigeria after appointment as Managing Director (West Africa) of Brandtone – a global consumer technology company.
His professional responsibilities have included successful establishment and growth of business ventures in over 25 countries. He is on the board of several companies where he is responsible for scaling and market development strategy. As a Retrain Nigeria co-founder, Ike is responsible for guiding and steering the organisation in corporate and commercial growth.
He was educated in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and the United Kingdom. He graduated with a BSc in Information Systems from Richmond, the American International University in London (2002) and has also completed an MA in Marketing Management from Middlesex University Business School (2003).
He is a globally certified management consultant by the Institute of Management Consultants, a fellow of Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
